What You want to do v/s What needs to be done

It’s a situation that each one of us goes through. A crossroad we stand at, almost every day. It’s a choice, everyone has to make every so often.

It’s not hard to recollect incidents like these. It happens to everyone. What path do you choose when you stand at such a crossroad? Are you always inclined towards doing what you want to do or you are the person who always does what needs to be done.

The path you choose reveals who we are and determines the experience you’ll have.

If you chose to do what you want…

You will end up achieving almost everything you dreamed of. There won’t be any regret on that front. Life would be satisfying and you will get to say – “Been there, done that” a lot.

On the flip side, you will be pleasing none but yourself; and that would alienate many people. Though you will be happy, you won’t have any worthwhile friend to share that happiness with. People may accept your presence but they will always see you as a self-centered person.

If you choose to do what needs to be done…

You will end up being a problem solver for everyone. You will be respected for your selflessness and many will flock around as friends. For being with you would give them the assurance that there’s someone who’ll always do the right thing no matter what.

On the flip side though, you won’t feel content deep within. Your life will be full of compromises, leaving behind a feeling of emptiness that would remind you of the million opportunities you missed in your lifetime.

Either ways, you lose something that matters. Whether it’s the being loved or being content, you will always miss it, inspite of having the one you most wanted. It’s inevitable.

Is there a way that would give us best of both worlds? Probably!

Why take just one stand throughout your life. Life is not constant. Why should your decisions be? Why shouldn’t you choose the path based on the situation.

If it feels right to go for what we want, then so be it. But if we realize that we should be doing what needs to be done, than may as well do that. This way, every situation will be new and you will be a new person every time. And at all times, you will be content knowing that you’ve done the right thing. It doesn’t matter, if at sometimes you are just doing what is right for you as long as at other times you are doing what is right for others.

Life is a onetime experience. You have a limited time in which you have to meet the eternal purpose of your existence. It’s not wise to have a single pattern of behavior all throughout your life. Most importantly, it’s not expected of you. Life is infinitely variable. It changes every moment, and then why shouldn’t you?

So don’t bother about being content or being loved all the time. There’s nothing wrong in failing to meet other people’s expectation just as much as there’s nothing wrong in being dissatisfied at times. If it’s a moment of social acceptance, so be it. And if it’s a moment of self gratification, then so be it. Just do what you can and be ok with whatever life gives you.

Life of Change

All my life I changed a little
A little for mom, little for dad
Even a little for my bro and sis
For they too felt I was little bad

Thought that was it, but I was wrong
The change went on and on
A little for my teacher, little for my pals
I kept changing from dusk to dawn

A little for the girl of my dream
A little for the kids that she gave
A little for the people next door,
For the society that taught me to behave

I kept changing to please the “Others”
Lived for them like a slave
I would have been happy being “Me”
If only I had been a little brave

The Theory of “Feelings”

You know, every time we express our Feelings we are actually lying… at least theoretically!

Theoretically a Lie is defined as - “a statement that deviates from or perverts the truth.” This is the case every time words are used to express Feelings.

I am not saying we are all cheats because our intention is not to betray the other person. Rather we are mere victims of inability of the language to express Feelings.

Take for an example, a case when you have said to someone - “I like you!”

What exactly happens within you?
You meet someone and begin to interact with that person. Depending upon the outcome of the interaction you either feel comfortable or uncomfortable. Now the way the mind works, the Feeling of comfort or discomfort is associated with the other person and not the interaction. Mind has this tendency to think in terms of action. It doesn’t consider anything has a happening. For it there everything is an action and there is always a doer behind every action. So when you feel uncomfortable, the mind says - “This person is making me uncomfortable”. Similarly, when you feel comfortable, the mind says - “I feel comfortable with this person”. If the interaction provides pleasure in addition to comfort, you feel happy; and mind says - “This person makes me happy”.

That is what happens in Reality! It is just an incident where a particular interaction has lead to you Feeling happy! But while conveying it to the other person, you say - “I like you!” Theoretically this is an action that you claim to do, but in Reality it was an incident that happened to you!

See the difference?

This holds true for every Feeling that we try to express! What we feel, is an incident that happens to us. And what we express, is an action that we or someone else is doing!

The difference is not just that!

When you say - “I like you!” to someone, the statement doesn’t have an expiry period. An incident is relevant only for a moment, but an action can continue forever. So if suddenly some day you are acting unfriendly, it leaves the other person perplexed. This person then begins to wonder what went wrong between you two.

Also, the act of expressing your Feeling demands an infinite loop of Reaction. The person who expressed the Feeling believes in his action and is now expecting a similar action from the other person. And if the loop is broken at any point than the person who is responsible for the inaction becomes the cause of discomfort.

Eventually, the “I like you!” changes to “I hate you!”

If we run down the memory lane of the Human history, you will realize that no wise person has ever claimed to have known Love! What holds true for Love holds true for any other form of Feeling. Love is just a reference to the ultimate state of pleasure a Human can experience. When the pleasure of someone’s company crosses all boundaries, it transforms into Ecstasy and your mind tells you that you are in love with that person. But at the core, it’s just a Feeling.

Feeling in its truest form is incomprehensible by Humans! To understand a Feeling you need to conceptualize it first and that requires you to speak to yourself. Now, whether you are speaking to yourself or others, you are using language; a language that was devised by Humans to communicate with other beings. A language is a product of Human mind. It works fine when you use it to express Thought processes. Thoughts originate from the Mind. In fact it is a Thought that has led to the invention of a Language. So Language is well-equipped to convey Thoughts. But Feeling is a state of being. It doesn’t originate in the Mind. Rather your Mind tries to comprehend it logically. There’s nothing logical about a Feeling. It is a state of Being that you pass through every now and then. There’s no way a Thought, a product of Mind can help you decipher the complexity of a Feeling that resonates outside the Mind.

Conclusively, what you cannot understand, you cannot explain! The fact is there is no way to express Feelings. But if we were to stop expressing our Feelings than how can we convey it to the other person? Every attempt of yours to do so is just an error in interpretation of that which is absolutely inexpressible.

This is where I begin to wonder? Why in the first place do we want to convey our Feelings? Every Human action is influenced by a Desire to achieve a set Goal. If we are conveying our Feelings, what we hope in return is that the other person reciprocates in a similar way. It’s a part of our tendency to be social. We want to be closely connected with certain set of people, who make us feel comfortable. To keep them close to us, we try to express our Feelings. If they convey the same Feeling it is understood that the two are connected and will remain so till the situation changes between them, to be precise one of them breaks the loop of expression.

The Theory of “Concepts”

This article requires a sequel that will probably never be written. As it happens with most of my articles, the sequel too has been shelved before it could take off. Somehow, this one survived my scrutiny and resistance, and flowed out.

Let me begin with a question!

How do you authenticate a “fact”? How do you come to believe in something?

Is your belief based on your sensory perceptions? Perhaps, Yes!

Most people often say that they believe what they see with their own eyes. Now, this statement is arguable as it is. But even if we take it to be the case, then how can we justify things we see but doesn’t exist. The fact that you have seen it doesn’t confirm that it exists.

Why is it that in spite of being forewarned about mirages, your mind expects water when it sees one in a desert? What happens to you when a magician creates an illusion and you tend to believe in it for that moment at least? And how do you explain cases of hallucinations.

The Eye has a tendency to be deceived. Can it then be trusted? And Eye is supposed to be the most powerful of all our senses. If you are blindfolded than all your senses can betray you. A perfume can give out smell of a rose; a mimic artist can make you believe he is someone else; and you can touch a fish and feel it’s a jelly. None of our senses can guarantee authenticity of our belief, neither individually nor as a whole.

How then, do you come to believe in something?
In Reality, You don’t believe in the sensory perceptions, you believe in the stories that go around them. You believe in the Theories. These Theories form Concepts that you believe in.

Now, if you were to buy my concept about your belief being merely a Concept than you will definitely argue. ;)

There are lots of instances where things are as you see, or hear or smell or feel. But then these sensory elements only help to build perception; and perception is built around theories; and theories are what we get hooked to.

Whether you have seen it or not, you will believe in UFOs because as a Concept it is interesting. You will believe in Godmen and Reincarnations, in Past-Life and Karma, in Seeking and Enlightenment. All these are nothing but Concepts that has been bought and sold for ages.

Who amongst us can guarantee a reincarnation? Just because someone somewhere remembered some events that didn’t happen in the supposed current lifespan, it is assumed that the person has reincarnated. If at all that is true than how are we different than the recycled bottles. Our body primarily is constitutes of Energy and Energy by nature is Eternal. It never dies; just changes form. So it’s quite possible we are changing forms and not actually dying or being born again. But you want to believe in Reincarnation because it’s fascinating. It engages your mind that has a phobia of Inactivity.

You indulge in these fantasies because if not for these concepts your mind will be left with nothing but Emptiness and that is scary. You probably would prefer to believe in Astrology than to accept the fact that what we call “the future” is unpredictable. Your mind is paralyzed by the fear of Uncertainty. So in its bid to comfort self, it weaves a Concept. And just so that the Concept is believable you try to sell that concept to others. The more the others believe in it, the more your belief is strengthened. And your mind is relieved of the undeniable state of Existence. Since mind cannot deal with it, it chooses to escape it, and the only way mind can do this is by engaging in some or other thoughts. Concepts fuel thoughts and mind is kept busy.

But eventually, when the mind gets tired and settles down and your left in a state of thoughtlessness your begin to realize that all Concepts that you have believed since the beginning is meaningless and worthless.

That moment of thoughtlessness also rids your mind of thoughts associated with the fear of uncertainty. In the absence of fear, there is no need for the mind to escape and to indulge in fantasy. You are then left on your own to relax and enjoy your state of being as it is without any Concept attached to it!

If that ever happens to you, you will realize…
All that your mind has ever conceived is merely a Concept including the ones that you refer has God, Love and Life!

And that’s where the sequel begins. So I will stop here!

Let Practice be the Preaching

One thing common amongst amateur spiritual seekers is that they like to philosophize about their new found wisdom. Whether it is the new book they have read or the spiritual event that they have attended, they are always tempted to share their experience with rest of the world.

Even before they have put the wisdom into practice in their life, they start persuading others around them to follow it. So they can have a company in their personal spiritual journey. This tendency is very common amongst Beginners, who do this to comfort themselves.

Spirituality is a very complex and commonly misunderstood subject. Many still believe that it’s an escape route for weak people who can’t handle the stress of life. Many laugh at it as if it is a dumb thing to practice Spirituality. Also Spirituality is actually a threat to religion as it eliminates the need to follow Concepts, which Religion is all about.

In such a scenario if someone has to walk the road of spirituality, the person feels doubtful of his endeavor. It always feels good when you have someone to walk along with you, even if it’s the journey you are meant to pursue alone. It gives that much needed emotional comfort. It gives a confirmation that you are not being stupid. If others are doing the same thing then there is a good chance that what you are doing is right and no one will laugh at you.

But in doing so, these amateur seekers actually taint the essence of Spirituality. It has become a joke because people who talk about it are the ones who know the least about it. An experienced seeker would wisely choose to hold his tongue over this subject.

True Spiritualists are those who never mention the subject in their day-to-day conversations, who refrain from preaching any thing of value to others, who don’t crave to do a good deed, who do not follow any concepts whatsoever. They don’t do anything, literally. They just stop Being and experience life as it happens to them.

As for the rest, they make it their mission to change the world. They try to change the world before they can change themselves. They would ask others to read a book, pay a visit to their favorite guru, practice a spiritual ritual and so on. Their suggestions are endless and they don’t bother if you are interested in their suggestions or not. They simply want to speak so they can assure themselves that they have known much about the subject.

Philosophizing gives them the confidence to continue with something that is not working for them. And that’s a hard fact. If you see a person who is arguing over his spiritual belief, you can be assured, spirituality didn’t work for him. Because if it had, he wouldn’t have made an effort to convince another being about the value of spirituality.

There are others who like to show-off their spiritual knowledge. These are the most unfortunate people of all amateur seekers, for they have been duped twice. The Ego which by default cheats us, plays a double game with these people. It disguises itself has a spiritual genius who has got it all, who has mastered the knowledge. Lack of knowledge seems like a personal lacking that they can’t bear. They derive pleasure by sharing their years of accumulated knowledge with rest of the world. At the outset, it definitely appears as if it’s a noble deed, however it is just another source of ego-gratification.

Spirituality has nothing to do with these gathered Concepts. Spirituality is an understanding that happens in the absence of all concepts.
Spirituality can have only one effect on you. It will make you a quieter person. Your mind will stop making noise, stop embarking on Concepts. It will come to Rest, and be in that state for the Rest of your life!

Less Noise, More Peace!

Now

Look not at who I have been
Wonder not who I can be
See who I am Now

I’m born every moment
Every moment I die
I am alive only in Now

Life is not what it seems
It’s not about Always,
It’s about Now!

Life is a vehicle without brakes

Imagine yourself waking up inside a vehicle. The vehicle is moving, you are in the driving seat and there is no way to put a break. There’s simply no option for brakes. There’s no option to control the speed either. The vehicle is going full throttle and the only thing you can do is to hold the steering and direct the vehicle as it zooms ahead on an endless path.

Imagine!

How different is it from Life?

You wake you one day and you are told that you have just been born. You grow up and realize that your existence is called your Life that began with your birth. But there is no way to tell when it is going to end and where it is going to end. You can’t put a brake on your life and rest for a while. You can’t even slow down if you want. Life is rushing with Time and you are compelled to keep up with it. You have been given a mind that decides. You can turn it the way you want, but still there is not much in your hand. You can choose directions, but you have no choice of the road. You can only take the road that is in front of you.

Some look at the steering at their hand and believe they have choice to turn it the way they want. They feel content knowing they have a Free Will. While others look at the road ahead and repent that they have not much option to choose from. They would want to be out of the road, but that is not possible. Their Free Will is limited to choosing from the given path. They call their limited choices as Destiny.

But the fact remains no matter what one believes in, all are inside the vehicle that doesn’t have brakes.

Now what can be done in a situation like this?

You know for sure that there is just one certainty: sooner or later the vehicle is going to crash and there is no way it can be avoided.

Obviously the fear of destruction is overwhelming. It is not easy to remain calm when you are going to crash.

Obviously some loose their cool and act rashly. Some being unable to bear the stress crash their vehicle intentionally and thus put an end to their lives before time.

But, not ever one is comfortable with the idea of suicide so they continue driving. However, deep inside, the fear is brewing constantly. On and off the fear shows its influence.

Some convince themselves that since they have their hands on the steering they can pretty much avoid the accident. Perhaps the fuel would get over, the engine would simply die out and the vehicle would come to a stop without any damage. They live a happy life for what they believe in makes their journey less stressful.

Amongst others, some think that even though, all depends on destiny, they can convince destiny to be kind towards them with their prayers or act of righteousness. Some day destiny would smile at them and bless them. Even this sort of people, are happy for what they believe in makes their journey less stressful.

Then there are people who realized there is nothing to worry about. They don’t bother about the crash that would happen in the future. They don’t even crib about their past, as to why they were put in such a situation. All they see is the present moment, where they are alive.

They turn on the AC, play their favorite Music and simply enjoy the Ride!

Worth a dime...

Life has become short
Needs have grown
There’s much to achieve
And time’s an enemy

Juggling has become
The act of survival
From one thing to another
One person to another

Searching hard for one
That fills the need
And that which doesn’t
Is comfortably ignored

It’s the business of Life
Success is everything
Without which
Life is worth a dime

By God

There was a time
When time did not exist
I lived by myself
You were not born yet

There wasn’t Universe either
Till I dreamed of it
And a seed was sown
Which grew full bloom

Then you came alive -
Most beautiful creation
I adored you the most
And let you Free Will

Now has come a time
You’ve become the Universe
You’ve put everything at stake
Fighting for your survival

You crave for Life
You dread about death
So scared you are…
You fear your reflection

Now I worry for you
What’ll happen to you
When I finally tell you
It’s just a Dream

Eyes

You need not speak to me
I need not listen to you
What use words can be?
When eyes speak so clearly

They tell me who you are
They tell me how you think
They tell me what you feel
They tell me everything

They haunt me in dreams
They pull me towards you
Pardon me my staring
I can’t take my eyes off you

Haiku

I stare my cell now
Chewing brain with vibration
So much for luxury
...

Dad’s after money
And Mom’s busy with TV
Poor child grows itself
...

I scan my closed room
And the life that passed by me
Both empty like me
...

Let the axe to drop
On the neck that bears the pain
It’s freedom forever
...

I walk beside you
Like a shadow too stubborn
Me, your reflection
...

I’m told, life begins
When thoughts cease to rise within
But mind won’t listen
...

Peace v/s Violence

Like most young rebellious teenagers, I have laughed at Gandhi and his ideals of non-violence. I studied about Gandhi just because it was a part of the course curriculum. To me, Gandhi appeared to be a person who screwed India’s freedom struggle. There was lot of animosity towards Gandhi and his idea of non-violence was rated as utter crap and outdated concept.

With an extremist approach, I found Gandhi as a loser and cheered for fighters like Subhash Chandra Bos, Bhagat Singh and Mangal Panday. I believed in their principles and supported their cause. It was more heroic than that of Gandhi’s. On top of it, the fact that they gave up their lives added an extra glamour to their sacrifice. Obviously, the young bloods preferred freedom fighters and I was no different from the pack.

I remember arguing against Gandhi and praising the deeds of the freedom fighters. The very thought of these rebellious leaders triggered the adrenaline rush within. It felt good to talk like them and think like them.

Somehow I subconsciously accepted Violence as the symbol of strength and Non-violence as a sign of weakness. As a result, the ‘Tit for Tat’ approach seemed to be the only smart decision and Forgiveness sounded good only in spiritual anecdotes.

I didn’t realize that I was subconsciously sowing a seed of Violence within me, which grew like a weed making every cause to fight justifiable. My urge for a fight reflected in my behavior towards others. My siblings, my friends, my colleagues, whoever it was I always found something to fight for, with them. Whether it was a friend going overboard bullying me or a sibling not allowing me to watch my favorite show, the cause always seemed right and I always stood up for a fight.

But this is not just my story. I have heard many people cribbing and bitching about similar issues. This is the case with everyone.

We all are used to Violence. We choose Violence over Peace, simply because Violence makes us feel powerful and this feeling is what we crave for. We know the person we are fighting with is a sibling, a friend or for that matter a human like us. Yet to forgive, we cannot afford. Somewhere it starts raising a doubt within us whether the act of forgiveness is a sign of weakness. To satisfy ourselves, we fight. We convince ourselves that the cause is strong enough and justify the fight.

Today, we have each gradually grown into a violent person. We don’t want Peace. But this was not the case. In nature, everything was meant to be at Peace. We too are part of this peaceful Existence. But our urge to prove ourselves has lured us to violate the Nature’s law and become violent.

However, our violent nature never comes into the limelight. We fight with a fellow commuter while traveling to office, because we think he pushed us. We fight with our family or relatives because we think they are exploiting us. We fight with our spouse thinking our partner is being unfair to us. We fight a lot, but our fights get overlooked. It is not highlighted like wars between nations. So we think we are normal people and there is nothing wrong with us. We don’t even realize how violent we have become.

I am sure it would crop up in the minds of many fellow readers that sometimes it becomes a requisite. Some times one has to fight for life. One would say – “If a person is intending to kill me, I can just say, Please be my guest. I will have to fight for my life.”

I understand this argument, but the idea of non-violence is not meant for one person. It is for all. If somehow all follow non-violence then there would be no person intending to kill another human. But to expect that is to ask for Utopia. There will be threat to life and there will be fight for life from natural calamities and from beasts. That is justifiable. Perhaps, it is justifiable even when an un-awakened soul is hell-bent on killing you. When you can’t take sense into the other being, the best option is to stand up and fight for your Life.

The focus is not on those extreme situations in Life but rather on the day-to-day Living.

Is a favorite TV show, a favorite attire or any other belonging, a worthy cause to fight with a sibling?
Is getting little pushed over or stepped over, a worthy a cause to get into fist-fight with an absolute stranger?
Is Wealth or Land, a worthy cause to cut through the bloodline of our ancestors?
Is Politics, a worthy cause to pull out a partition and divide a nation?
Is Race, a worthy cause to burn human beings alive?

Some may say Yes and be proud about it. There is absolutely no way to prove them Wrong. But the fact remains, they have become Violent and in being so they are violating the natural state of Peace.

Gandhi’s non-violence approach may have definitely affected India’s freedom fight, but it has surely saved Humanity from becoming a Monster. He has, in his own little way delayed the process, which today seems like inevitable.

Today, we fight for Education. Education is supposed to help us become more mature. Ironically, we have ended up fighting for seat reservations. Today we fight over Religion, which was devised to help humanity transcend the normal being. Instead of transcending to higher level, we have stooped further low and have humiliated humanity by our act. Today, we fight for Love, which just reveals the height of human ignorance. Love the most divine feeling, the essence of peace being the sole cause of hatred and triggering violence.

We can continue with this madness or we can simply start asking ourselves - is the fight really required? Can’t we let go of our desire to fight?

Love V/s True Love!

I am sure we might have heard some one saying, “This time, it’s a true love.” Perhaps we might have said it ourselves.

What I am trying to convey is that we talk about Love and True Love as if they are different from each other. What we see around us is LOVE. And then suddenly we find someone who acts differently than the average rational human. We admire the person and make a statement – That’s a True Love.

Does this mean that the other Love that inflicts the average humans is not a true one? It is hard to nod an Yes to that question.

The other day I was having an argument over this with a friend of mine. My friend held an opinion that –“Ups and Downs are there in all Relationships.”

I argued that – “That shouldn’t be the case. There can be Ups and Downs in Life events, but why should there be any in a Relationship?”

“We have just formed this concept to console ourselves because we have yet not figured out a way to have a conflict-free Relationship. And it is hard and perhaps impossible for some to accept that the fault lies with us.”

Continuing with my argument I stated, “What at present, humans experience is not Love. It’s a Psuedo Love. I am not saying people are cheating on their loved ones. What I am saying is, we have been cheated ourselves. For ages, we have got this definition of love and we have come to believe in it.”

What we experience when we find someone special, we call it Love.

Mostly we do it because almost everyone is seeking a Relationship as if it is a Life Support System. Relationship has been hyped to such an extent that Life appears to be incomplete if you are not in a Relationship. And to get into a Relationship, you need to Love. So Love becomes the most cherished emotion.

Definitely, none of us have any clear idea of what Love is.

If a guy falls for a girl just because he finds her attractive, it is called Love.
If a girl starts dating a guy just because he fits her criteria’s of a Life Partner, it is called Love.

The saddest part is that for most people – Love doesn’t happen. They make it happen.
People go to great heights to achieve a Relationship. They compromise and forgive, if required. Some even kill themselves or worst kill other people for the sake of their relationship.

All is done in the name of Love, for the sake of Love. And then the lovers eagerly get into a Relationship. Once the Relationship is formed the goal is achieved. Then there seems no need to put in any more efforts. So they comfortably start being themselves and that’s when the conflict arises. When we start being comfortable we unknowingly ignore if the other person is getting uncomfortable with us. Most of the time our default nature is not acceptable to the other person. That is why we mask it in the beginning of a Relationship. But the mask has to be taken off. It can’t be kept on forever. And when we reveal our default nature we end up causing trouble in the Relationship.

Either one decides to quit a relationship or decides to bring about changes in the other person so the relationship can become feasible for oneself.

This feeling is mutual. So both partners keep fighting about what the other person should have or shouldn’t have done.

Obviously, no one likes being judged as Wrong. Some defend themselves and keep the grudge within while others argue and omit their feelings out on their partner.

Thus begins arguments, fights and often it ends in a Divorce. Not necessarily, a Divorce is a legal separation. For me a Divorce has happened when one of the partners has already thought of quitting the relationship. Whether or not the partners go for Divorce, doesn’t make a difference.

We have seen our parents and relatives fighting. We hear the same stuff in the stories we share amongst friends. We get the same stories in the Novels we read, movies we see.

It is fed into us every now and then. We are bound to accept that “All relationships go through Ups and Downs.” It is not anyone’s fault. When the whole humanity thinks alike, it obviously isn’t one person’s fault.

My friend refused to agree with me.

Yet, I still believe – Relationships need not go through Ups and Downs.

Because the Ups and Downs happen when we follow the Ego. It is our Ego that tells us that the other person is Wrong and needs to change. It is our Ego that tells us that we know what is best for our loved ones and that is why we should lead and others should follow. It is our Ego that wants Life to move in the way it wants. It is our Ego that causes all conflicts.

But the problem is that the Ego has so taken over ourselves, that we have been totally covered up with it and lost our true identity. When we judge someone we judge the Ego of the person, but we point our fingers at the person. Because the thin line between the Ego and the true Self is invisible to us. And the person who has been judged, doesn’t realize that it is the Ego that is being judged and takes it personally. Even to this person the thin line between the Ego and the Self is invisible. So this person now nurses negative feelings towards the person who judged. And, now to this person, the person who judged becomes Wrong. This person too fails to see the Ego in the other person.

It is the same story with all of us. We don’t realize the very act of judging is an activity of the Ego and not of the Self. So the loop goes on – We judge and get judged in return. And in the process make a mess of our Relationships.

I still believe that the Love we see around and the Love we experience is a Pseudo Love.

True Love leaves no scope for Conflicts.

Relax in the Being!

In Nature, no being will ever try to prove what it already is. A tree will never try to prove that it is a tree, nor a seed will try to prove itself a seed. No being, except for mankind has ever suffered with an identity crisis. None of the beings have ever experienced any conflict with their true self. All have the necessary intelligence to understand the Reality of their individual Existence. And perhaps that is why there is such peace in their existence.

Unfortunately, somewhere during the process of Existence, Humanity mutated in its consciousness and ventured into an alienated domain of Fantasy. This tour of Fantasyland has continued ever since and very few have managed to realize that it is a trip away from Home, a trip that was not meant to last forever, ultimately they need to go Home. These fortunate few have somehow managed to reach Home. That leaves the rest of us who are still trapped in the Fantasyland and have got so used to it that now we find it strange when someone says - it’s not Real! For most of us, the situation is so worse that we want the Fantasyland to be real.

Somehow we have developed a craving for a situation other than What Is. We are not happy with What Is. We constantly crave for Change. Some of us proudly refer the saying that – Change Is Inevitable. There is just one flaw in this saying – it originated within the sphere of the Fantasyland and hence it holds true only within the boundaries of the Fantasyland. In Reality, Existence is ever Constant, there is no Change. How can there be any Change when there is no scope for any Change in any given moment. Change requires Time, and Existence is beyond the dimensions of Time.

However, we ignore that and justify our individual seeking by convincing ourselves that Mankind was meant to evolve. That Evolution is the purpose of Mankind.

It simply seems we are all inflicted with inferiority complex. We are not happy with who we are. We strive to grow, to evolve, to reach a destination that does not exist.

Whether it is money, fame, security, love or enlightenment – all those who seek are craving for the impossible. All our so called Goals in life are just Concepts, whether it is wealth, status, comfort, love or for that matter the ultimate realization – all are but Concepts that were sown on the fertile ground of the Fantasyland. It is obviously impossible for Concepts to emerge as Reality, because the very ground where the Concepts are born is perishable. All that Begins will End. A Concept originates and so shall it perish. But Reality remains as it is. We can mask it with any Concept we want. But beneath the Masks, Reality remains intact. Someday the Masks will worn out and Reality will emerge afresh.

In Reality we are just Humans, like the trees are just trees, animals just animals, birds just birds and stones just stones.

But to be content with being JUST Humans is what trouble us. We want to be something more than that… may be better Humans, or Messiahs or God almighty himself, if possible.

Our need for this switch is the root cause of the chaos that we constantly experience.

If only we realize that we are just Humans and there cannot be any glamour in our existence just because we crave for it, we would perhaps gradually settle down and give up the quest for the gold that does not exist.

Yes. It is possible to achieve the goals set in the Fantasyland but that achievement is also a Fantasy. In Reality, we have not changed. We are still Human at the core. No matter our achievements, no matter our failures, we cannot Change our being Human. We can calls ourselves, rich, poor, winner, loser, good bad, sinner, saint but at the core we are all just Human.

No matter, what we do, what we try to be, we cannot Change the Reality – that we are but JUST Humans.

In the end, if we all need to return to the Source. Then what is the point in running in all the different directions and exerting ourselves.

Why Can’t We Just Be Where We Are As Who We Are And Simply Relax?
